This is our second visit to Wadhayes and won't be our last! Absolutely ideal location and we loved sitting on the patio enjoying the view of the valley.

Jo and family, Chelmsford Aug 2016

Visit No7!! Yes really, and it just keeps getting better and better. The Red Arrows for my birthday when we came down, Sidmouth beach providing fabulous beach fun, plus days out in delicious Devon. No wonder we'll be back for more.

Chris and Catherine, Hampshire July 2016

They say first impressions mean a lot and on arriving at The Stables cottage my first impressions were, 'Wow'! The location & the cottage were amazing - beautifully renovated, everything you could possibly require and Scones & Cream!. We have a had a lovely time and would love to return.

Nan, Bryan & Tia Swansea April 2016

We are veteran 'dof friendly' cottagers but nothing compares to The Stables. It surpasses everywhere else we have stayed, in terms of comfort, equipment and the standard of accommodation. Plus great walks on the doorstep. Honiton is also a delight. Thank you Kathryn and Rick for making us so welcome.

Sarah and David, Southampton Aug 15

Thank you for a wonderful week. The extensive information pack for the local area and beyond was of greta use. We found so many walks, beaches, villages, etc. to visit. The farm and surrounding area were lovely to explore. We will definately return in the future. PS the fresh farm eggs and your own apple juice were delicious!

Pam and Alan, Birmingham April 2015

Thank you for such a lovely stay. The cottage is so clean and comfortable. The cottage is ideally situated for getting about. So many nice places to visit and only a short drive away. We shall be back.

John and Sandra, Leics, Oct 2014

Our first visit, but definately not our last. Cottage cosy and comfortable with everything you need. We had wonderful walks and loved the scenery and peace around the cottage. The welcoming touches on arrival were very thoughtful and much appreciated - being able to make tea and to sit down to scones on arrival was the start of a relaxing holiday. We will be back.

Paul, Karen & Nell, Somerset Sep 2014

Our 2nd visit to this quiet location with beautiful scenery. Perfect for our walks and access to the coast. The cottage was as we remembered; comfortable and very cosy with the log-burner. Great spot to stay with a dog. We will return - look forward to sampling your cider!

Helen & Carol, Essex Aug 2014

Once again thank you so much for a generous and friendly welcome to your farm. Kathryn and Co. were such good hosts - nothin is ever too much trouble. We shared the first week with friends - we all enjoyed the peace and quiet and have recharged our batteries. The Stables is home from home - thank you.

Tom, Amanda & Lawrence, W Sussex July 2014

Thank you for a very relaxing week on your idyllic farm! What a location; hidden away yet so easy to accessboth Dorset and Devonfor day trips. As our first family holiday we have loved every minute and thank you so much for thinking of all the essential things you need for a self-catering holiday. A truly beautiful cottage in a lovely place.

Camille, Plymouth June 2014

Thank you so much Kathryn and Rick for giving us such a warm welcome. We have stayed in a lot of cottages but this one is something else. We've visited some lovely places during our stay. Thanks to all your family for making it such a wonderful stay for us.

The Leas, Kent May 2014

This is the best cottage we have ever stayed at - peaceful location and well equipped. The under-floor heating has been a real treat, along with the delicous cream tea that was waiting for us on arrival. A special thanks to Kathryn for showing my daughter around the farm and collecting the eggs in the morning - she hasn't stopped talking about it since! This is the most child-friendly cottage we have visited - well enclosed garden, wet-room, stair-gates and plug covers have all made our stay here a lot easier. Thank you for a wonderful week and I'm sure we'll be back again in the future!

ailey, Andy, Frankie, Alfie & Lexie, Essex Apr 2014

Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday. We have had an amazing time from the moment we stepped into the cottage and were met with fresh flowers and home made cream teas which tasted great. Long walks and meeting the animals and was even lucky enough to see a calf being born. The children have loved meeting the lambs and have not wanted to go on day trips just stay on the farm. Kathryn, Rick and and girls have been lovely and made all of us feel welcome. We don't want to leave and I'm sure we'll be back.

Diana and Victor, Limassol, Cyprus, Oct 2013

What more is there to say. Kathryn & Rick you have clearly got it right with such lovely comments from so many people. Yous shouls be proud - keep it up! We were house and car hunting before returning to the UK after 25 years so the Wifi was a bonus. Thank you for a lovely stay, we shall tell our friends.

Jabez & Margaret, Sep 2013

What a gem this is! The Stables is all that we could have wished for. Perfect location. So quiet and peaceful and suprbly renovated. Kathryn & Rick you made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We have enjoyed our stay here, the wood burner was so cosy, especially on damp, miserable days. We hopr to come back again before too long. Many thanks

Adam, Jo, Lucas, Sylvia, Pershore, Worcs, Aug 2013

Such a fantastic home. Beautiful location and superb for both a relaxing break and for children. Thank you for your warm hospitality. You have really thought of everything that people would need for a home-from-home holiday, often something other cottages don't achieve.. We loved the beaches at Branscombe and Beer and had a great day out at the Donkey sanctuary. 'Toast' in Honiton is great and has a lovely garden if you are blessed with good weather. Thank you again for a great holiday, we hope to return again

Jo, Adam & Lauren, Chelmsford, Jul 2013

We have had the perfect week and we are sad to be leaving! The cottage is beautiful and all the little touches are so thoughtful. It was great to have a stairgate to stop Isla wandering upstairs.. We are expecting our first baby in December, we have spent all week imagining future family holidays and can';t wait to return with the baby in tow. Thank you Kathryn & Rick for everything you have done to make our holiday so special. We look forward to returning soon.

What a wonderful holiday! Weather mid- 20s everyday, with Devon at its most beuatiful. the cottage is such a comfortable place to stay, made better by all the personal touches from Kathryn. Perfect dog walking country, we thoroughly recommend the circulat walks book in the bookcase. Thank you.

Paul, Karen & Nell, Chew Valley, Jul 2013

An attractive, well equipped, comfortable cottage. Having studied many brochures for the right spot, this was ideal. The location, wonderful scenery and options for walking were perfect. The fenced area arounf d the cottage was great for Nell and we enjoyed our meals, relaxing soaking up the glorious views. Observing the beautiful cattle and sheep was of great interest to us as was speaking to Ray about the farm's history. Kathryn, Rick & family - you are providing an excellent service.

Family from Jakarta, Jun 2013

We have found a taste of English country life here and enjoyed it. The sun shone! The cottage was warm and cosy. We were happy.

What a beautiful place! So thoughtfully designed and so welcoming with scones, tea and milk. Thank you! We have had a lovely holiday with our son-in-law Dan, daughter and granddaughter. She loved the animals on the farm and the seaside. We enjoyed meeting you and your delightful girls. Very best wishes for your venture: we will certainly recommend this holiday destination.

Lianne, Richard and Kiera (4) &Blue the dog May 2013

We have had a fantastic time here at ‘The Stables’. The cottage has everything you need and more. We have stayed in luxury cottages before and this is by far the best.  I agree with the previous comment about the website not doing The Stables justice.  We love the log burner especially and the cream tea on arrival.  Thank you for taking Keira to see the lambs and the chickens and for allowing her to collect the eggs. She loved it. Thank you for a great stay here and for making us feel so welcome.

Dawn & Wes and Monty May 2013

We read the reviews on the website but they didn’t give the ‘Stables’ justice.  It is such a lovely cosy place to stay, having the animals around us was wonderful, just hearing the little lambs in the morning was a delight. The weather was a bit hit and miss but knowing that it was such a lovely place to come back to was great. We made great use of the log burner!! Thank you for the lovely touches, there wasn’t anything we could fault. We shall be booking again. Thank you.

Brian, Nicola, Iris and Rowyn May 2013

We have had a lovely stay at the Stables, everything was lovely, the cottage and setting perfect.  We all enjoyed the Devon tea when we arrived and Iris especially like the Iris flowers – thought they were just for her!  We enjoyed all the lovely beaches and will definitely be back one day to explore the rest.  Thanks for a great stay!

Pauline & Olly April 2013

FAB.  After our coastal walks, was the perfect nest to return to.  As with other comments – 10 out of 10. Will return. PS Many thanks for unexpected treats + flowers.  VM appreciated.

Sarah and Sophie  (Cotswold archaeology) April 2013

What a stunning set up! We stay in a lot of holiday lets for work, and this has to be the best yet! A beautiful cottage, and you seem to have thought of everything. Scones & Jam & cream! Amazing. The house is so comfortable – showers are great. A fire! So clean as well – and warm. One thing worth noting is the selection of books, DVDs and CDs. Just brilliant! Usually the collection is poor but I could stay here for a week just reading! We have really enjoyed our stay here and will be recommending to friends and family.

Paul, Jo, Adam, Lauren + Willow the dog March 2013

A beautiful cottage, hidden away from the bustle of everyday life. The children got to blow away the cobwebs and we got to spend some much valued time as a family.  We really hope we can return in the summer. Thank you.

Rachel & Laura and Jasper March 2013

This is truly a lovely cottage in a great location. We really appreciated how comfortable and well-equipped it is – a true home-from-home. Thank you for the warm welcome – the cream tea and dog treats were a lovely surprise and much enjoyed by all! We have been very fortunate with the weather and have had some lovely walks along the coast path. Branscombe to Beer was a particular favourite.  We had a lovely meal in the Drewe Arms in Broadhembury where dogs are made very welcome. Thank you once again!

Laura & Andi, Pumpkin and buddy March 2013

Thank you very much for such a lovely stay.  The cottage is gorgeous and had absolutely everything we needed – you have thought of everything! We really appreciated the warm, homely welcome. Pumpkin & Buddy (our Daschund puppies) had the time of their lives too, particularly frolicking at Sidmouth beach. All the best.

Jan & Keith Feb 2013

Just a perfect week in a gorgeous cottage, in a beautiful countryside setting, with blue skies and sunshine – who could dream of more? We just loved exploring the local area and along the coast.  Thank you – the cottage is just perfect.

Rachel, Chris and Jennifer 20th Jan 2013

We managed to do quite a lot considering the snow but wish we had another day or two to visit some more sites! Jennifer loved being greeted by Rosie every time we ventured out to the car. Would definately recommend to family and friends and hope to come back ourselves (in the summer next time though!)

Richard, Tracey, Lottie and Tilly. 23rd Dec 2012

We have had a wonderful break. The cottage, views and location have been perfect to get away from it all. Totally relaxing. Visited Sidmouth, Beer and Branscombe beaches - Tilly even ventured into the sea. The cottage has had everything we needed - much more than we hoped for ans the Christmas decorating and mince pies were a lovely thought. The eggs were especially tasty! Thank you so much - we will hopefully be back sometime.

Ben, Jo and Chris. 23rd Nov 2012
